Toyon Multilingual Journal of Literature and Art Volume 70 - Coming April 2024 Liberation Now! Volume 70 - Special Theme Powerful institutions have kept people, notably indigenous people and people of color, in a perpetual state of marginalization and subjugation. These institutions affect every dimension of modern life: expression of sexual identity, socioeconomic positionality, professional and social opportunity, and mortality. They have lasted for hundreds of years and are reiterated with each new generation. What is necessary for liberation? Where in society does resistance manifest? What are the support structures which enable effective resistance? Compared to the past, what are new methods of resistance that we see from the new generation? How do we achieve liberation now? Volume 70 is a venue to share and showcase your experience with and also expression of resistance, community building, and liberatory practice.
