The Multicultural Center focuses on exploring identity and history, experiencing cultures and traditions, expressing feelings, ideas and observations, empowering each other to advocate for social justice, and engaging to build and sustain community. The Cultural Times newsletter centers on this same values.
The Matrix provides a space for the expression of feminist ideas, and the many forms that it comes in. Including but not limited to: poetry, fiction, news, politics and art. The Matrix staff accepts submissions from everyone willing to submit, there is no need to be a student or alumni. The Matrix has also been recognized as one of the top college publications by The Nation magazine, and has loyal readers all over the country.
el Leñador is a bilingual newspaper produced by Humboldt State University students with minority backgrounds. Our core values drives us to become the voice of the Latino community in Humboldt County. We are committed to keeping our community informed of the most important in actuality. Through our newspaper, we hope to inspire other minorities to share their stories and experiences, thus creating more social, political and cultural diversity in local media.
